    1. Find last year’s annual statistical report.
    2. Go to the calculator at http://tinyurl.com/ko9dt
    3. Type in the appropriate circulation and usage numbers in the boxes on the left of the list of library services. (The calculator asks for monthly figures for a family. If you type in monthly circulation of the library, it calculates monthly values returned for the library. If you type in yearly circulation, it calculates yearly values.)
    4. The value of each service is shown in the boxes on the right of the list of services.

Library work component:
  1. Fill-out “Create your library's message" worksheet for three of the following people or groups in your community at http://tinyurl.com/5b9rxk

    • Mayor

    • City manager

    • City council

    • One service organization (e.g., Lions, Optimists)

    • One group of patrons (e.g., parents, seniors, etc.)

  2. Give the Parking Lot Speech to one of the three people or groups.

  3. Describe in at least one paragraph how the speech went. Did you deliver the speech well? What could you have done better? What was the person’s or group’s reaction?

  4. To receive credit for completing this project, submit the following.

    • Three filled-out “Creating your library's worksheets.”

    • The description of the Parking Lot speech delivery.

    • A filled out CE Project Agreement Evaluation form (Word document)
