III-A: Public Services

A public library director or library staff member is able to:

1. implement and explain day-to-day library policies and procedures in areas such as circulation, interlibrary loan, reference, and Internet access


2. explain the application of library laws and library ethics in providing services to the public


3. establish a welcoming environment that encourages active use of library services by the public with convenient public services, effective study areas, convenient traffic flow and excellent signage
