  • Library work component:
    1. Fill out the "Technology assessment: Preparation for writing an E-rate technology plan" at http://tinyurl.com/637pv7 File the completed from in your E-rate files. If the E-rate auditors come, they will want to see it.

    2. Write a technology plan with the following characteristics.

      • Front cover states: the name of the library, three years covered by the plan, date of library board approval.

      • Plan covers three years.

      • Contains the five elements required by the Schools and Libraries Division.

        • Goals: each year should have one or more SMART goals

        • Professional development strategy

        • Assessment of telecommunication services

        • Budget resources: copy of budget covering technology

        • Ongoing evaluation process stating the person in charge, frequency and method of evaluation.

    3. Submit plan for state approval to Jeff Hixon, State Library of Kansas, 300 SW Tenth Ave., Room 343 N., Topeka, Kansas 66612-1593.

    4. To receive credit for this project, submit the following to the Head of CKLS Continuing Education.

      • Copy of filled out the "Technology assessment: Preparation for writing an E-rate technology plan"

      • The State approved technology plan. Please send as attachment to email.

      • A filled out CE Project Agreement Evaluation form (Word document)
