The Formoso Public Library chose to create posters of people working at businesses on the block on Main Street where the library is located. The librarian ask the models. It was explained to participants that the library wanted to promote reading in the community. The idea seemed to be well received and the models were friendly and eager to help. Photographs were taken in the businesses or any where the librarian found the models could be found. The schedule was determined by time constraints of the CKLS' camera and laptop computer visiting the community.
Photographs were taken the week of June 15th.
Props for the project were books or magazines. The participants were free to choose whatever they wanted and most chose not to use a prop.
The posters were created by the librarian and the posters will be distributed by the librarian in August. The posters will hang in the businesses where the models work. A news article will be in The Courtland Journal. The poster of the librarian's assistant will be hung in the library with a sign encouraging patrons to look for other “READ” posters in town.
